In the event of oversubscription, the order of priority for admissions will be:

  1. Children who have been baptised as Catholics
If necessary, within category 1, the Governors will give priority as follows, (the factors will be considered separately in sequence):

    2. Children who have a brother or sister in the school at the time of admission
    3. Children who regularly attend Mass on Sunday
      Notes:
      • Tie Breaker - where there are more children than places - proximity (following lighted footpaths) will be the deciding factor.
      • Evidence of Baptism will be a Certificate of Baptism. Evidence of regular attendance at Mass will be a letter from the priest of the place where the child attends Mass.
      • Sibling links - brothers or sisters including a full brother or sister or step/half brother or sister living at the same address.
  2. Children who have not been baptised Catholics

If necessary, within category 2, the Governors will give priority as follows, (the factors will be considered separately in sequence):

    1. 'Looked after Children' (Children in Public Care)
    2. Children who have a brother or sister in the school at the time of admission
    3. Children who are practising members of a Church or religious community
      Notes:
      • Tie Breaker - where there are more children than places - proximity (following lighted footpaths) will be the deciding factor.
      • Evidence of being a practising member of a Church or religious community will be a letter for the appropriate religious leader.
      • Sibling links - brothers or sisters including a full brother or sister or step/half brother or sister living at the same address.

Applications for admissions will be assessed by the Governors in consultation with the Head Teacher.

Unsuccessful applicants will be placed on the waiting list, if this is requested, in order of eligibility according to the Admissions Policy. They will remain on the waiting list until they are offered a place.

Applying to the School

Primary Common Application forms are available from the school. The opening date for applications is 1 November 2007 and the closing date for applications is 31 January 2008. A supplementary form will also need to be completed and returned to the school.

Successful applicants will be notified by letter by the end of the first week of May 2008.

Parents have the right to appeal against any refusal by the Governors to admit their child. Appeals should be directed to an Appeals Panel established within the terms of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998. Details of the appeals procedure can be obtained from the Clerk to the Governors at the school.
